Seeds Gets Roasted

Roasting is an adventurous, complex undertaking that the coffee community is learning so much about.

In early February, I had the privilege to meet with some young people from the state of Tennessee (Jacob Sharp and John Mark Inman). This crew is starting their own roasting company from the ground up. Their innovation, motivation, and eagerness to lean make them a seemingly unstoppable force.

Marty, our new Lead Production Roaster, and I were able to be a part of their first cupping experience and share some of our coffee knowledge with them. Their energy, humor, and willingness to pursue coffee education are inspiring. We were thoroughly impressed by them.

Marty and I agree that these guys are on the right track! We are honored and happy to be connected to this team.

The roasting scene is about to get a little more rowdy!
